San Francisco-based sustainable footwear brand AllBirds has taken the wraps off its first international store on London’s Long Acre.
The 1,600 sq ft store was designed in collaboration with Allbird’s in-house team and design agency XYZ and was inspired by London’s parks. It offers a natural green environment, with use of greenery and natural materials such as moss throughout.
Unique to the London store is an interactive wall which displays laces encased in recycled plastic bottles, representing the brand’s eco-friendly products.
“Allbirds is an exceptional international brand and we are delighted that they chose this well-loved London destination for their debut European store. With a mission to further sustainability within the fashion industry, we are sure they will be hugely popular with their new customer base in the UK,” said Simon Taylor, Property Director at The Mercers’ Company, which owns a considerable property portfolio in London, covering Covent Garden and the West End.
AllBirds was established in 2016 and specialises in footwear with sustainable wool uppers. Last week it closed a $50m Series C funding round led by T. Rowe Price Investment Management, Fidelity Management & Research Company and Tiger Global.
