If proof were needed (not that it was) that trainers are the shoe of the moment, Vogue US editor in chief Anna Wintour – who is famous for wearing only Manolo Blahnik heels – has designed a collection of trainers in collaboration with Nike.
The Anna Wintour Okay, “AWOK”, sneakers are a take on the sportswear giant’s Nike Air Jordan high tops. The collection is made up of four silhouettes, including the “AJ1 Zip AWOK” zip-up style in bright red or white and the “AJ3 AWOK” which comes in black and a tweed style in reference to Wintour’s signature Chanel suits.
Each shoe comes with an “edited by Vogue” keychain, a limited edition box and dust bags, and features Wintour’s signature on the sole. AJ1 High Zip AWOK will be available from 21 July while the AJ3 AWOK will launch on 7 September. See more information here.
