Bread & Butter launches Bold Minds Speak video series

Bread & Butter, the Zalando-owned customer facing fashion and culture event, has unveiled a series of videos, Called Bold Minds Speak.

Featuring influential fashion figures revealing their thoughts on "self-expression, personal style, fashion and music, being bold and the things that keep them busy" the 45-second spots are being dropped in the lead-up to the September show.

Bold is the theme of the Berlin-based show, which has been transformed by etail giant Zalando (which acquired it in June 2015) from its original purpose as a trade show into a Festival of Style and Culture for consumers.

Prominent figures to take part in the series include Dame Vivienne Westwood, designer and artist Aitor Throup, publisher Jefferson Hack and model and activist Adwoa Aboah. A new video has dropped today (10 July) featuring photographer and stylist and co-founder of Sukeban magazine Erika Bowes.

In her 45-second spot Bowes talks about the challenges of setting up a magazine with no funding at the age of just 22 and how she is currently championing Asian women. "If you want to make it work, you kind of just have to make it work," she says.

"Being bold is saying what you think without hurting somebody else's feelings," she concludes.

The participants in the series were unveiled at a launch event for the show last month and the videos are being shown on breadandbutter.com and via its social channels.

Bread & Butter takes place from 1-3 September in Berlin.
