COS is taking its modern, functional aesthetic to the North West for the first time in a standalone store having signed for a 5,700 sf ft flagship at the Liverpool ONE shopping destination.
The new store will open next month at the entrance to Peter’s Lane, adjacent to Flannels and Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols. It will be situated in a former warehouse with links to the city’s maritime history.
Sam Miller, head of expansion at parent group H&M, said of the move: “Liverpool is known for its focus on fashion, and nowhere more so than Liverpool ONE. The high footfall and line-up of complementary brands on Peter’s Lane will be great assets as we introduce our first COS standalone store in the North West.”
Grosvenor Europe’s Liverpool ONE, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, reported sales up 3% in 2017 and an annual footfall of 29m. It is home to 170 UK and international retailers including Michael Kors, Zara, John Lewis, Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols, Ted Baker and Reiss, and is promising the announcement of another new store at Peter’s Lane shortly.
“We are very pleased to secure a first store in the North West for COS, which is another great directional fashion brand for Liverpool ONE. COS joins a cache of exceptional premium brands located on Peter’s Lane that together provide the best in designer clothing, footwear, jewellery and beauty products,” said Grosvenor Europe director of asset management Alison Clegg.
