Manchester-based clothing and footwear distributor 2squared has announced a refreshed brand proposition and website, as well as the opening of a new showroom on East London's Brick Lane.

The new developments are an integral part of the JD Sports-owned agency’s aggressive expansion plans which include significant investment in marketing and digital infrastructure, lead by new head of marketing Andrew Wright, who was formally global marketing manager at Henri Lloyd.

Wright has been on a recruitment drive employing five new team members in the fields of e-commerce, marketing and creative taking the total in-house team to nine. The business has also appointed London-based communications agency Brandnation to handle consumer and trade PR. Leeds-based Rushh has been appointed to handle e-commerce and SEO.

“By structuring and strengthening our B2C marketing team the agency is geared up to grow our portfolio of brands, and we wanted a stronger B2B identity to underpin this agency proposition. This ambition is supported by the opening of our first London showroom," said Wright.

2squared was established in 2006 by two JD Sports senior managers, Neil Corrie and Martyn Harrison. It has since grown into a business with a £10m-plus turnover, representing brands including Champion, Diadora, Android Homme, Creative Recreation and Marshall Artist, and was acquired by JD Sports last year.

The agency’s growth plan includes bringing on board new, long term brand licences as well as creating and developing its own brands.
