OWNTHELOOK.COM exceeds crowdfunding target half way through campaign

Fledgling etailer OWNTHELOOK.COM has exceeded its £175,000 crowdfunding target and is now moving into overfunding as its campaign still has 13 days left to run.

At the time of writing the business had raised close to £185,000 via its campaign on Crowdcube, which was launched on 11 April.

"I am so incredibly overwhelmed by the support we have received. To have reached our funding target within two weeks of our raise is such an achievement and I’m very thankful for the strong belief in the business, the team and our journey of growth. I now look forward to entering the exciting period of overfunding!" said Olivia Cantillon, a former stylist and editor who co-founded the business with angel investor Terry O'Sullivan a year ago.

The business also said it was experiencing strong trading in Q2 with March achieving record sales and the April target already surpassed with four days of trading yet to go.

OWNTHELOOK.COM has set itself apart from other etailers by ensuring each of its looks has been put together by a team of experienced stylists, with advice on what works with different body shapes. It also offers customers the chance to buy the entire look in just two clicks. Prices range from £25 for a t-shirt to £350 for a leather jacket.

The business has said it will invest all the money it raises via the Crowdcube campaign into its digital marketing strategy to drive further growth. Since its launch it has shipped orders to 28 countries, with an average order value of £102. It currently has 1,500 customers and 6,000 newsletter subscribers.
