The Modist announces global partnership with Farfetch

The Modist, the new online platform dedicated to modest luxury style has today announced a new global partnership with Farfetch.

Launched in March of last year, The Modist offers a curation of leading luxury and contemporary labels for the modest dresser. Its selection will now be available globally via Farfetch's plaform, reflecting growing demand for this booming fashion category.

Founder and CEO of The Modist Ghizlan Guenez said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Farfetch focused exclusively on luxury modest fashion that changes the fashion game. We both recognize the complementary nature of our businesses and with Farfetch’s global reach and The Modist’s deep understanding of the consumer in the modest fashion market, we will reach our woman worldwide, bringing her the best of fashion in a relevant and curated way."

Edward Sabbagh, Managing Director, Farfetch Middle East added: “Having a home-grown Middle East e-tailer as unique as The Modist join the Farfetch family and extend their modest offer to a global customer is an exciting opportunity.”

As well as labels, such as Christopher Kane, Marc Jacobs, Missoni and Roksanda, The Modist also offers its own label Layeur by The Modist, which it launched in April of this year. Shortly afterwards, in June the business revealed it had received a $15m cash injection from new investment company Vaultier7, which was established by Anna Sweeting and Montse Suarez with the backing of the Puig family.

The Modist's first advertising campaign

Earlier this week, The Modist also launched its first advertising campaign containing its manifesto to redefine modern modesty. The campaign will run in print, digital and out of home formats and reads:

"It’s never been a more extraordinary time to be a woman. The fight for equality is far from over but change is happening. We’re expressing our individuality and creativity on our terms. A more modest silhouette is becoming a positive fashion choice for women around the world. But let’s clear the air; when we say modest we don’t mean in spirit. It’s what we choose to reveal. This is the à la modist silhouette. These are our bodies. Our femininity. Our stories. We believe that fashion à la modist is liberating. Chic. Confident. Inclusive of everyone. To the judgment of no one. This is us. These are our times."
