We Are Pop Up launches "world's first property social network"

Retail space marketplace We Are Pop Up has launched a new platform, Brand to Brand Messaging, which it has dubbed the "world's first property social network".

Brand to Brand Messaging enables brands to connect with each other on the platform and pool their budgets in order to be able to book larger spaces, as well as grow their networks, and, ultimately, "do more business".

We Are Pop Up, whose network already includes 20,000 brands and retailers in 101 countries, says the initiative is "leading the movement towards creative retail". Brand and space owners can use the platform to do property deals but also to collaborate, share resources, and develop new ideas and consumer offers.

The mission of We Are Pop Up has been to "bring down the barriers to accessing retail space by stripping out middlemen and connecting people with people", says CEO Nick Russell. “First we connected tenants and landlords, now we connect brands with spaces. With each new feature, we make the world of retail property more open to innovation and opportunity.

"We started with the world’s first online retail agreement.  Then, we added ShopShare [in 2014] to enable brands and spaces to collaborate in any retail shop – vacant or not. We can’t wait to see where the market will go next with this new tool at their fingertips,” Russell added.

We Are Pop Up says it has connected 1,000 brands and spaces in the last 18 months. Recent high profile projects have included men's concept store The Dandy Lab in London's Spitalfields. Pictured above is Spitalfields salon and creative space Butchers which is available for hire for pop-ups.
