YOOX has today unveiled a new AI-powered styling suite to enable shoppers to digitally mix and match products, create looks and share the results via social media.
YOOXMIRROR features an avatar called Daisy (pictured), who can be used the bring the looks to like. Daisy will guide shoppers around the YOOXMIRROR interface and, in a fashion brand first, will take over the YOOX Instagram account.
Conceived and designed by the YOOX Research & Development team, the immersive styling suite displays more than 250 products per week across nine unique fashion themes, which are presented in a “stories” format. Shoppers will be able to roadtest looks and gain immediate feedback before proceeding to purchase or saving their favourite items in their “DreamBox”, a wish-list style feature.
Behind the playful interface lies a complex technology: building upon the work of the YOOX merchandising team, sophisticated algorithms detect visual elements (colour, pattern, and shape) within a product image, while Deep Learning networks extract product attributes to select alternative items, which work best with each other.
Virtual Reality technology will fit the selected items on a 3-D model, bringing them to life against “evocative immersive backdrops”.
“The introduction of YOOXMIRROR represents an important move for us, offering our customers something personalized and memorable which is also a brand-new way to explore the very best of YOOX,” said president Paolo Mascio.
“We are so excited by the potential of this initiative that we will not limit our avatar Daisy to the styling suite – taking over our IG she is going to become the personification of YOOX, allowing us an even more direct contact with our followers and customs,” Mascio added.
YOOXMIRROR debuts on YOOX’ iOS APP today (10 December).
